Getting started with MoltBot is simple. This guide will walk you through the installation process on any platform.

Quick Install

The fastest way to install MoltBot:

curl -fsSL https://moltai.bot/install.sh | bash

Or using npm:

npm i -g clawdbot

Platform-Specific Instructions

macOS

1. Using Homebrew (recommended):

brew install moltbot

2. Direct download: Download the .dmg file from the releases page and drag MoltBot to your Applications folder.

Windows

1. Using winget:

winget install moltbot

2. Direct download: Download the .exe installer from the releases page and run it.

Linux

1. Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo apt install moltbot

2. Fedora:

sudo dnf install moltbot

3. Arch Linux:

yay -S moltbot

Initial Setup

After installation, run the setup wizard:

moltbot setup

This will guide you through:

• Setting up your AI model (Claude, GPT, or local)
• Configuring messaging integrations
• Setting your preferences

Verify Installation

Check that MoltBot is working:

moltbot --version

Updating MoltBot

Keep MoltBot up to date:

moltbot update

Or via your package manager:

Common Issues

Permission denied: Run with sudo or check your PATH
